Dapper Stork Cinema - First day of Filming

We completed our first day of filming on Wednesday the 29th March in Belfast City Centre. We travelled from Dunmurry Train Station to Great Victoria Street Station in Belfast, and actually filmed some scenes on the train. However, due to technical difficulties with the camera, some of our footage was not recorded. Instead of only re shooting the scenes we are missing and risking the quality of the film and continuity, we have decided to reshoot all of the scnes and this way we can learn from our experience last time we were filming and improve on what we could make better. Jane unfortunately cannot attend filming today.

We learned that from our last day of filming we forgot to taking establishing shot around town of key landmarks and sights like the City Hall and its gardens. We also improvised some additional shot ideas that we liked for example we filmed establishing shots from inside the train of the passing town and of Conor on the train looking out the window. We are going into town today to film and are going in more prepared as we know have multiple printed shot lists which we didnt have last time and had to search for WiFi connection to see the shot list which disrupted our schedule. We are being more specific today with the actors in terms of costuming and sticking to the script as closely as possible. It took roughly an hour and a half to complete filming last time but we think it may take longer this time as we are focusing heavily on improving from our last day.

and interacting with Asian tourists

We became an atrraction of public and tourist attention. Many foreign passers began taking our pictures as we filmed which we found amusing. We have planned an easier way to film our shot reverse shots we are using in the project. This time we will film all of one actor's lines first and then film the others, with the actor's taking breaks between lines so it is easier for Cliona to edit. We have also decided to add some shots of Conor's journey from the train station to City Hall to establish the setting of the town in the background. If the weather takes a turn for   the worst we will film in Victoria Square
and hopefully take some nice establishing shot
from the famous 'Dome'
Some shots were more difficult to film, for example
the close up of Anuerin's character's phone to show
an incoming message, so we tried the more
conventional method of hand holding the camera
and ditching the tripod which got in the way of
shooting this particular shot
